How to Play Paydirt: Blocks, Tools and Banking Ore

A cutaway mine wall reveals layered rock, glowing ore veins, four mining tools and a secured ore sack.

Paydirt is a mining expedition where every reachable block has its own live price. You are not buying a fixed-cost spin. You are choosing which quoted part of the rock face to purchase next and when to bank the ore already found.

How to start and open the wall

  1. Set the stake. The stake is the unit used by block prices and ore multipliers.
  2. Choose an exposed buyable block. Rock behind it remains locked until the front path is opened.
  3. Confirm the displayed price. The debit can differ from the base stake because every block has its own quote.
  4. Reveal the result. Paying ore adds to the sack. Non-paying rock opens space without adding value.
  5. Choose another block, use a tool or bank. Nothing in the sack reaches the account balance until banking settles.

Why ore changes nearby prices

Paydirt generates the seam in dig order from a published conditional table. When ore appears, neighbouring blocks can become more likely to continue that vein. Their expected payout rises, so their quoted price rises at the same time. When worthless rock appears, surrounding expectations can fall.

That does not create a free information edge. The server calculates each buyable block’s expected payout and divides it by 0.98 to set the quote. The result is a 2% house edge for every valid block under every dig order.

Pick, charge, shaft and auger

  • Pick: one precise block.
  • Charge: up to a 3 by 3 patch on the exposed face.
  • Shaft: up to five blocks straight down.
  • Auger: up to four blocks inward.

A multi-block tool costs the sum of the quoted blocks it can legally reach. Those blocks resolve against the wall as it stood before the tool fired, so one reveal inside the action does not reprice another block halfway through the same purchase.

Streaks change swings, not return

Consecutive paying digs can raise a streak multiplier. The multiplier scales both payouts and prices, so it increases the size of the swings without creating a better expected return. The richest published ore is the Mother Lode at 2,500x the base stake, but its quoted context and rarity matter as much as the headline.

Banking is the settlement decision

The ore sack is active round value, not account balance. Banking closes the expedition and credits the sack. Decide a bank rule and total spend before mining, because an exciting vein can make a rising series of quotes feel smaller than it is.

Compare Paydirt with shorter games in the Burst guide, and use the Edge page for the current published return information.

Frequently asked questions

How does a Paydirt expedition work?

Choose a buyable block or tool action, pay the displayed quote and reveal the affected rock. Ore adds its listed value to the sack, while dirt, gravel and stone pay nothing. The sack credits only when you bank it.

Why do Paydirt block prices change?

The server prices each reachable block from its conditional expected payout divided by 0.98. Revealed ore can make nearby rock more likely and more expensive, while misses can cool nearby quotes. The edge remains 2% on each valid purchase.

What are the four Paydirt tools?

The pick takes one block, the charge reaches a 3 by 3 face patch, the shaft takes five blocks downward and the auger reaches four blocks inward. A tool costs the sum of the valid blocks it actually reaches.
